about me
I am a Software Engineer at Pinterest, where I work on the ads serving platform, building low-latency systems that power billions of requests globally. I hold an M.S. in Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence) from UC San Diego and a Gold Medal in Computer Science & Engineering from PSG College of Technology (Anna University). I also hold an O-1 visa, granted to individuals for extraordinary ability in their field.
2023 - Present · Pinterest
On the ads serving platform team, I design, build, and scale the ad delivery engine behind a meaningful share of Pinterest's multi-billion dollar ad business. I work across the full stack of this system - architecture, implementation, and optimization - to serve relevant ads to hundreds of millions of users with high reliability and performance.
2021 - 2022 · UCSD
During my graduate studies, I worked as a researcher in the Bazhenov Lab at UCSD, focusing on continual learning and the loss surfaces of neural networks as a part of DARPA's L2M program. I helped develop sleep-based continual learning algorithms and contributed an integration to ContinualAI's Avalanche framework, which later became part of the PyTorch ecosystem.
2019 - 2021 · Arcesium (D. E. Shaw & Co.)
I spent two years at Arcesium as a Senior Software Engineer on the Machine Learning team, where I architected MLOps pipelines, built trading infrastructure, and modernized legacy systems - work that collectively drove significant gains in speed, reliability, and cost efficiency.
Outside of Work
When I am not writing code, I am usually sketching landscapes, editing videos, or deep in a book - fiction and nonfiction in equal measure. I run, occasionally to the finish line of a marathon, and train in kickboxing. I follow the markets with genuine interest. A lifelong P.G. Wodehouse fan, and always on the lookout for the next great read.
If you would like to talk about my work, the markets, or trade reading lists, find me on email or LinkedIn.
